DESCRIPTION:It’s America’s 250th “birthday” in July\, and we have a lot to celebrate. For our camps this year\, we will be highlighting the American spirit of innovation that is alive and well in Shelby\, NC. We will meet folks from Shelby whose hard work and innovation have created amazing things for our home town to enjoy. We will also remember people from days gone by whose vision and discipline helped to create the Banker’s House and many of the beautiful spaces and places which make Shelby a wonderful place to be. \nThe four-day camp sessions will include fun and engaging activities including arts\, science experiments\, tours of the local area and more! \nCamp Counselor Heather Halbert is an Exceptional Children’s teacher in Shelby and has experience working with a wide variety of students. Her interests include writing\, photography\, and music. \nBoys and Girls Club members are eligible to attend at no cost!\nFor all others the fee is $50/week which includes lunch and snacks. \nHours are Monday – Thursday from 9 am – 3 pm each day. The camp is held on the Banker’s House property at 319 N. Lafayette Street\, Shelby. \nThank you to the Grassroots Arts Program for awarding a grant to support this camp through the Cleveland County Arts Council.

DESCRIPTION:You are invited to join us at The Banker’s House for Historic Friday Guided Tours at The Banker’s House\, offered every Friday afternoon between 2–5 p.m. \nEach tour offers an engaging look at the home’s rich past\, distinctive Second Empire–style architecture\, and the stories of the people who lived and worked here. Whether you are visiting for the first time or returning to discover new details\, each tour provides a deeper appreciation of this beloved local landmark. \nTours move through the main house first\, and once completed\, guests continue on to explore the carriage house and grounds\, rounding out the full experience of the property. \nFriday tours are $10 per person\, with payment accepted at the door. No reservations are required. If you are unable to attend a Friday tour\, private group tours for six or more people may be arranged by contacting May Reed\, Executive Director of The Banker’s House\, at (980) 404-0096.
